The Future Of Books

All my friends & family (plus a few loyal blog readers) know that I love to read. I read in bed, in the toilet, while waiting in queue, when I want to relax, when I’m upset with something in reality, when I’m hungry & need to be distracted from thoughts of food, etc., etc.. Yes, I love my books. I love getting lost in a fictional world & love nothing more than a good bookstore filled to the rafters with books, spending hours caressing book spines. And thanks to the wonders of technology, my iPhone holds a collection of ebooks that makes reading on the go so much easier (not to mention reading in bed when I don’t want to disturb a certain someone with my reading light).

Now, this amazing video by the folks of IDEO shows you how they are planning to take books to a whole new level in the future – three new levels to be exact. I’m especially excited over the possibilities of Alice. Hello, new chapters revealed if you take certain actions while reading the book? How fun!

Cake Toppers

All I’ve been thinking of are weddings lately – specifically my wedding. Every time I go online, I never fail to look up something wedding related & yesterday it was all about cake toppers. Here are a few of my favorite pieces that I also shared on my wedding blog.

I love them all, unfortunately we only get one wedding cake so I’m going to need some help deciding. So, do you like what you see? Which one would get your vote?? I’m leaning towards getting a custom piece done by the fantastic Lalalaurie or whimsical Milk Tea, but the toppers from Cotton Bird Designs & Lollipop Workshop are just so darn cute! Help.

New Designs!

I’m so excited about this new style of necklaces that I worked on all of last month & is now available at the Tongue In Chic Store here & here. These collage pendants are made with carefully selected variety of vintage floral cabochons, vintage charms, vintage inspired findings & Swarovski cabochons. They’re all one of a kind & I worked on each piece for hours to come up with the best combination so here’s hoping you’ll love them… Fingers crossed!

Sweets Indeed

Check out this amazing table display & sweets from Sweets Indeed who have put together loads of inspirational dessert tables/buffets. This particular hot air balloon theme reminds me of Bobby’s proposal back in March & i can’t help but wiggle my toes with delight.

Mimpi Murni ♥ CLEO

Mimpi Murni made it into CLEO Magazine’s Best Online Shopping Guide 2010 list! I’m over the moon about it & I can’t thank Deborah (Feature Writer,CLEO) enough for thinking of me to add amongst so many awesome online sellers. I’m going to show my mom the magazine now, bye!

The Rescues

I’ve shared my new-found love for The Rescues on twitter, on my wedding blog & on my FaceBook so I thought I’d spread more love here. You don’t mind do you? Of course you don’t because I bet you’ll love their music just as much as I do. These two tracks gave me goosebumps, I kid you not & the Katy Perry cover below is so unexpectedly beautiful that I swear I will never ridicule pop music ever again. If only iTunes were available here in Malaysia, I’d have this downloaded on both my iPhone & iPod Shuffle in a jiffy.

Lace Pumpkins

With Halloween is just around the corner, I bet you party-hearty folks are ready with your decorations. But in case you’re not ready or want to stay away from the usual store-bought decorations, here’s a really nice DIY tutorial with the Mimpi Murni stamp of approval. It’s no surprise that these lovely, lacey, cut-out pumpkins are from the creative folks of Martha Stewart. Have fun with this & Happy Halloween!
