How did it happen that their lips came together?
How does it happen that birds sing, that snow melts,
that the rose unfolds,
that the dawn whitens behind the stark shapes of trees on the quivering summit of the hill?
A kiss, and all was said.
-Victor Hugo

I got a simple rule about everybody.
If you don’t treat me right – shame on you.
-Louis Armstrong

Each time anyone comes into contact with us,
they must become different and better people
because of having met us.
We must radiate God’s love.
We must know that we have been created for greater things,
not just to be a number in the world,
not just to go for diplomas and degrees,
this work and that work.
We have been created in order to love and to be loved.
Love does not measure. . . it just gives.
-Mother Teresa

A Dessert Bar

Look what I recently discovered while out shopping for groceries at Isetan, KLCC...
Click on the image for a closer look at the yummy dessert.

Dessert's Bar specializes in fresh and wholesome desserts with no preservatives and 100% natural ingredients. Imagine dessert that is not only yummy but it's good for you too! Oh, I'm so happy right now that I'm tingling right down to my little toes!

They have a promotional space in front of Isetan's grocery market until 21 May and have loads of free samples for you to try out. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and enthusiastic about their product that I came away with a stomach full of free samples and about RM60 poorer from buying almost everything they had on sale.

I would've loved to stay and try out their crepes and other delectable desserts but since I had to rush for an appointment I treated myself to a Grape Smoothie (it had no sugar in it and was simply made with a variety of grapes and crushed ice), a jar of Mango and Kiwifruit Jam (no preservatives, not too sweet and soooo good!), about 2 packs of their Pizzelles so that I can recreate their famous "tapas" at home and a pack of their yet to be officially launched Green Tea Tiramisu. It's not even available at their stores yet so if you happen to be around KLCC do go and try it out because it's seriously good!

To find the closest Dessert's Bar near you, click here. I think I'll be spending more time at Menara Hap Seng from now on...

I'll Be At....

After a loooong hiatus, I'll be setting up a stall at Bijou Bazaar, one of the newest indie bazaar/market to hit KL. From 31st May - 1st June expect to find all Mimpi products at 20% off! Yup, you read right. 20% discount on everything at my table (don't be funny and ask me about my displays though!). I'll be posting pictures soon of my latest designs so stay tuned.

Here's how to get to the bazaar at Jeumpa D'ramo and do check out some of the other amazing vendors: La Petit Penderie, Peachy Keen, Take.Me, Cassettee and Not Frumpy.

I'm so excited and can't wait to start selling on site again!

Ikea Lovin'

I love Ikea. I'm an Ikeaholic. I swear could go to Ikea every week and not get bored. It's a great place to go for decoration inspiration, to source fun and cheap seasonal decorative items and practical home solutions. And hey, a little retail therapy never hurt anyone, right?

Plenty of people will groan and moan, "oh, but IKEA is soooo commercialized and everyone has the same piece of furniture from Ikea." Not so my nay-saying friend. Check out Ikea Hacker for ingenious solutions to customize your flat-packed Ikea purchase.

Anyhoo, the pictures above are just some of the things I bought recently to perk myself up when I was feeling under the weather and in need of cheering up. Clockwise from left to right: KNUBBIG table lamp with cherry blossom etching on frosted glass (makes a very nice night light as it's really small and oh so pretty), SOMMAR beach mat in pink (for my trip out to Tioman Island next month), SOMMAR hanging tealight holder (I bought all the colors shown because I love the combo) and SOMMAR cushion with the pink star. Couldn't find the other stuff I bought on their website as I suspect they're from last season.

Did I mention that I adore Ikea's line of seasonal items? The ones above are obviously from their latest Summer collection. Read and see how I decorated my boyfriend's birthday party last year with almost an entire range of Ikea Christmas decorations here and check out the pictures here.

Long live Ikea!

KL Fashionistas, Listen Up!

The famous KL blogger Joyce of Kinky Blue Fairy, recently posted a link on her blog to her latest project: a darling little website called Tongue in Chic which is totally dedicated to all things fashion. The website is run by fashion addicts for fashion addicts, so it's a great place to go for the latest scoop on the KL fashion scene and SALES, glorious sales. Already they've garnered quite a following and I quite enjoy reading the informative and upbeat articles. Go check it out yourself.

I Don't Want To Grow Up

Some of the 3 things that never fail to cheer me up:
1. Kawaii stickers... and these are calendar stickers! What will they think of next?? Even though we're half-way through the year, I couldn't resist them. Click on the picture on the left for a clearer view.

2. Books! A good & super cheap one makes me especially happy but three?!? Oh, bliss. The ones you see here are from the Penguin Classic titles and they're printed on 100% recycled paper. Retailing at RM8.50 each!

3. Hankies. Yes, you read right. Hankies. As a kid my mom always made sure I left the house with a clean hankie so everytime I use one these days I get happy flashbacks of my childhood.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

The video above is part of the MTV Exit campaign against human trafficking and exploitation. It is a fight for freedom and for the basic human rights that many of us take for granted.

"The UN's International Labor Organization estimates that worldwide about 2.5 million people are victims of trafficking." More...

Email mtvexit@mtv-asia.com if you'd like more info or to contribute a brilliant idea for the campaign.

I recently read about this artist who picked up a stray dog from the streets of Honduras, then chained it to a corner of an art gallery and starved the poor guy to death in the name of art. Made me cry looking at the pictures. Why would someone do something like that? Why did the gallery allow this to take place?? Why did the people watching this live 'installation' didn't do anything to save the poor dog??

I'm not going to put up the pictures here but you can read more about it here (be warned, the pictures are heart wrenching). And you know what the really crazy thing is? The prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of Central American decided that what this cruel artist did was 'art' and has invited him to repeat this travesty. Please sign the petition to stop it from happening again.

Not to make light of the post above but I headed over to Cute Overload in search of much needed cheer and found this video. Hope it cheers you up too.
