As I'm still fairly new to floral arranging, I still have tons to learn so I am grateful for every opportunity that comes my way. Thank you & congratulations Adzwan & Lynda! May you live happily ever after...

Ray's Aqiqah & Cukur Jambul
Here's a little peek of an event I worked on the weekend before last. The theme was classic elegance & we went with a yellow, orange & bronze colour scheme to go with the gorgeous venue which was the new home of my client's mother-in-law. I designed & made all of the guest goodie bags which consisted of customised yasin & doa booklets, customised mineral water bottles, pouchettes for the bunga rampai & a paper bag to hold it all (see below). I also styled the dessert table by providing the props & small floral arrangements in the apothecary jars & cake stands. All of the large scale floral arrangements along with the crib were provided by my talented friends at Poetry Of Flowers. Love their work & efficiency! More pictures will be up on my FB page soon.

Polka Dot Baby Shower
A little baby shower I decorated earlier this month for my good, good friend. The theme agreed on was light blue with polka dots so I went for sweet & simple & stuck to white flowers like imported Roses, Baby's Breath & Ping Pong Mums which I think lends well to the polka dot theme. I highly recommend Marmalade for your next event by the way. Not only is the pre-existing decor lovely, the food is yummy & the staff are super helpful. More pictures of the event over at the Mimpi Murni Facebook page. Have a look see!

Olympics Withdrawal
Goodbye, 17 days of amazing sporting feats. Thanks for all those goose-pimple inducing moments when I got to witness sport history being made not to mention awesome strength, determination, artistry & unity. Thank you also for showing us that even the Spice Girls can preserver (hah!).
Despite being right smack in the middle of a recession, London put up on heck of a show. Kudos, London! You are, as always, one cool dame.

London Olympics 2012
Did you wake up in the wee hours of the morning to catch the live telecast of the London Olympics opening ceremony last Saturday? I did & I loved the wonderfully ballsy & eccentric take on what must be the most watched opening ceremony in the world. Yes, it wasn't as spectacular as the Beijing Olympics with its incredible pyrotechnics, extravagance & its breathtaking precision in gargantuan scale as so many bemoaned but London, being one of the world's epicenter of pop culture, included so many elements of it [pop culture] with a dash of British humor that made this particular opening ceremony very, very cool in my opinion.
And would you expect anything less from the artistic director Danny Boyle who was the man behind such cult classics as Trainspotting & multi-awarded Slumdog Millionaire? Then throw into the mix a parachuting James Bond & Queen (yes, H.R.H. the Queen!), Mr Bean being hilarious, day dreaming & finishing off with a fart joke, a tribute to Harry Potter with JK Rowling doing a reading & appearance by Lord Voldemort, performances by Arctic Monkeys & Paul McCartney - I'm a very happy girl indeed. Admittedly though, being a lover of old English tales, I would've liked to have seen a sequence of medieval England with kings, queens, knights, courtiers & a dragon or two but in hindsight, that would've looked very out of place in Boyle's creation, but a girl can wish right?
In case you missed the opening ceremony, I found a full-length video of the opening ceremony here (all 4 hours with the athletes parade - Malaysia comes in at 2:23:10 by the way). God bless YouTube. And here's a written review that I found very in line with what I felt. Enjoy!

Mustache & Bow Tie Baby Shower
Hello folks. How was your weekend? Mine was filled with preparations & set up for another styling job. This time it was a baby shower with a mustache & bow tie theme I came up with to go with the venue, Carcosa Seri Negara. I thought the playfulness of the mustaches added in with the somewhat prim & proper bow ties would tie in nicely with the colonial setting & the client, who is expecting a baby boy, loved the idea. She loved the idea so much, she even had her nails done to match (check it out down below), how cute is that? Yay for awesome clients!!
These are just the few pictures I took with my phone. I'm working on editing the rest of the pictures I took on my camera PLUS I have a little freebie for my blog readers which should be out sometime this week, so stay tuned!

Nautical Themed Birthday Party
I had the best time planning the decor & favors for my favorite 10 year old who just happens to be my little sister! I especially enjoyed it since I was given free reign to do whatever I wanted (within budget of course!) so I gave the birthday girl 3 themes to choose from. Imagine my glee when she chose the nautical theme which is the perfect fit for the pool party & something I’ve been dying to put my own spin on!
I kept things simple with origami paper boats & custom printed sails that I filled with fish biscuits, cupcake flags & polka dot balloons in shades of blue with pops of red as accent. For the kids’ table I placed a galvanised pail filled with blue glass paper to mimic water & placed a paper boat on it as centerpieces, & for the kids’ favors I did candy packs that had a layer of blueberry jelly beans, chocolate marshmallows & fish biscuits plus a small bottle of bubble solution. Everything turned out sweet & simple, just how I like it. Click here for more pictures.

Mimpi Murni At Hello Deer
The truly awesome folks of Wondermilk have done it again. They’ve outdone themselves. Yet again. Wondermilk now has a brand spanking new space they’ve called Hello Deer, right alongside their Uptown cafe that is open exclusively for events like parties & markets! I’m soooo super excited to be one of the first few vendors to peruse the space during their launch party THIS weekend *clapping hands in glee*
I had the pleasure of seeing the space before renovations were complete & even then, it looked wonderful, I kid you not. Personally, I think this new space is a stroke of genius & I can’t wait to see more exciting things from Wondermilk. Do drop by if you’re free over the weekend & make sure you come over to say hello k? I’ll be there on Saturday only though so be warned ;)

Yes, I’m Alive
We proposed a modern classic theme to reflect their gorgeous home at Taman Bukit Seputeh & finally settled on an overall chevron pattern in burgundy, teal & light pink. We didn’t want anything too frou frou & over the top which is prevalent in most Malay weddings, so we were so thrilled to no end that the couple were happy to go with the simple yet streamlined design. There are more pictures of the event over at our Facebook page (do like us while you’re there). Have a look!
